PSG is planning a €50 million bid to sign Marcus Rashford
PSG is planning a €50 million bid to outmaneuver Barcelona for the signature of Manchester United's outcast, Marcus Rashford.
Marcus Rashford has rejuvenated his career since moving to Barcelona on loan from Manchester United during the summer. After an impressive spell in Spain, several top clubs are now interested in acquiring the English international.
As reported by Fichajes, Luis Enrique holds a strong admiration for the 28-year-old and has urged the PSG management to secure his acquisition. The Spanish coach seeks to enhance the quality and depth on the wings and views Rashford as a perfect addition to his tactical setup.
After experiencing a rough patch and a disagreement with manager Ruben Amorim, Marcus Rashford spent the latter half of last season on loan at Aston Villa. Although he returned to Old Trafford in the summer, there was no path back into the first team for him.
The Red Devils were prepared to let him go, and Barcelona capitalized on this by bringing him in on loan with a purchase option set at €35 million. The English winger has been in outstanding form since joining the Catalan club.
With several of their key forwards facing injury issues, Rashford has become the primary option for Hansi Flick. The Manchester United misfit has participated in 17 matches across all competitions, contributing to 15 goals (6 goals, 9 assists).
While the Catalan club has a favorable buy option to make the transfer permanent, their financial circumstances are not ideal. Consequently, there is uncertainty regarding his future at the Spanish club beyond this season, despite their intention to finalize a deal.
PSG is prepared to make a strong push for Rashford.
Marcus Rashford is still under contract with Manchester United, but he is no longer included in their future plans. Consequently, they will seek to sell him if Barcelona does not activate the purchase clause. PSG is monitoring the situation closely and may take advantage of it.
Luis Enrique views him as an excellent choice to enhance his attacking lineup, and they are ready to invest significantly to secure his transfer to France. They are working on an initial bid that could be approximately €50 million. This offer greatly surpasses Barcelona's purchase clause, potentially giving PSG the upper hand.
Rashford is enjoying his time at the Spanish club and would be happy to stay there. However, if that option falls through, PSG could present an appealing alternative for him, as their project appears very promising.
